E o Verão já se foi…

… e não é brincadeira!

Para quem trabalha com Moda, sabe que a engrenagem é complexa e muito, muito veloz. O verão já foi, o alto verão também e o desenvolvimento para o Inverno 2011 anda ha milhões.

Tô com o September Issue Vogue America aqui e dei uma olhadinha nas trilhões de páginas de anuncios que tem já do inverno: muitos tricots, verde militar,  leather, high heels, alguma história de renda e xadrez renovado, com uma padronagem diferente e, claro, os bichos! Aliás, já faz umas boas coleções que ele não dá trégua, hein?! ( i LOVE it!)

Mudanças na Maison do chefe…

A marca Valentino anunciou ontem (04/10) mudanças na direção criativa da marca. Os estilistas Maria Grazia Chiuri e Pier Paolo Piccioli foram os eleitos. Assim, chega ao fim a colaboração rápida de Alessandra Facchinetti, que desde setembro de 2007 estava na frente da direção artística das coleções de Valentino.

Maria Grazia Chiuri e Pier Paolo Piccioli trabalharam durante mais de dez anos com Valentino e algumas criaram coleções de acessórios. Os rumores sobre a mudança começaram durante a Semana de Moda de Paris, onde a grife apresentou sua nova coleção de prêt-à-porter primavera-verão 2009.

“Fabulous Frocks”

Algumas imagens ficam para sempre. Pois é, pensando nisso (e no mundo fashionista), Sarah Gristwood e Jane Eastoe resolveram publicar um livro com os looks mais marcantes das últimas décadas. As duas resolveram dar enfoque na história e na contribuição que cada vestido representou para a história da moda.

Fotos como de Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Linda Evangelista. Nomes como Chanel, Valentino estão no livro. Ainda não tive a oportunidade de manuseá-lo (foi lançado essa semana em Londres), mas em breve poderei visualizá-lo em alguma livraria gringa!

Em novembro…

Although it seems that everyone in the fashion blogosphere is thinking exclusively about the upcoming fashion weeks, apparently some people have bigger plans on their mind. Like former Valentino PR guru (he left when the big man left) Carlos de Souza, who is keeping busy with jet-set parties and a jewelry line. It was his dedication to the former that led him to send out Michael Roberts-designed Save the Date cards to some of his favorite international pals, inviting them to his tanned motherland of Brazil this November for some South American summer fun. We caught up with the gregarious man about town just before he left for Venice to meet with Mr. V at a party at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum (just ’cause the legendary designer is retired doesn’t mean he’s bored.) “I’m telling everyone to get their suitcases ready, darling,” de Souza drawled, adding that the weekend’s home base will be the Hotel Fasano in Rio de Janeiro, which he described in traditional fashionspeak: “You know that hotel, it was the one that Vogue shot Lapo [Elkann] and Doutzen [Kroes] in for that Escapes issue. It’ll be entirely closed for our VIP guests.” Not that the guests should plan on spending much time in their hotel room; de Souza has confirmed the attendance of both the Body From Brazil (Gisele, of course) and the Face From Russia (Natalia Vodianova, duh), arranged a fashion show, and lined up a secret weapon in the shape of Amy Sacco, who will be setting up a special Bungalow 8 luau for the event. “This is a very special project for me,” he said. “It will be absolutely ridiculously fantastic.”
